Images of Sony’s upcoming Xperia Android tablet have made their way online after the initial leak last week. These images are much better than the blurry ones which accompanied the previous leak, and they actually show the entire device in its standard tablet form factor, rather than attached to the optional keyboard accessory which seems vaguely reminiscent of the Surface. From a visual standpoint, the device looks pretty good.
If the leaks are to be believed, the Xperia tablet will be released in September for $399.99 (16GB of internal memory), $499.99 (32GB of internal memory), and $599.99 (64GB of internal memory). The keyboard accessory is expected to cost an additional $99. The 570gm magnesium-aluminum alloy device will, of course, run Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich” and include an NVIDIA Tegra 3 CPU, 1MP and 8MP cameras (front and rear, respectively), and a 6,000mAh battery.
