Samsung might be preparing to release a super-sized version of its already enormous smartphone, the Galaxy Note, at an upcoming event on August 15. This new device is reportedly of the 10.1-inch variety, putting it squarely in the tablet camp rather than somewhere mid-way between a smartphone and a tablet like the current model.

The invite for the South Korean manufacturer’s event, which was sent out to multiple tech outlets, clearly depicts a tablet form-factor. The design also seems to have been heavily influenced by the Galaxy Note’s artistic stylings. Put two and two together and you have the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Note tablet, which was announced at Mobile World Congress earlier this year.

We’ll know more starting at 11:00 a.m. Eastern on August 15, when Samsung is scheduled to hold its event in New York. The Galaxy Note has been quite popular with smartphone owners, but will it continue to succeed in the tablet space?
